n11 Brand Protection Centre: Membership and Filing an Infringement Notice (2026)
Muhammet Çay · 9 September 2026 · 12 min read
Short answer: n11 is the one Turkish marketplace where you cannot simply file an infringement notice: you first join the Brand Protection Centre at ipr.n11.com. The application is sent to mkm@n11.com and consists of a signed membership agreement, a signature circular for companies or a signature declaration for sole traders, and the Turkish trademark registration certificate together with proof of authority. Once membership is approved you receive a username and password, log in, and file each notice inside the system; the outcome comes back by email. If you cannot wait for membership, the notary and registered electronic mail routes that Turkish e-commerce law provides remain open, and n11's KEP address is n11@hs01.kep.tr.
Why n11 needs a membership first
n11 does not process infringement notices sent ad hoc through a web form. Enforcement runs through a separate service, the Brand Protection Centre, at ipr.n11.com, and you must be a member of it before you can file anything. This means you cannot simply visit a public complaints page and submit a takedown request on the spot. The platform requires a formal onboarding step that sits entirely outside the standard seller or buyer interfaces. Until that membership is granted, the filing tools remain inaccessible.
This surprises most foreign brand owners, because the other large Turkish marketplaces either accept a notary or registered electronic mail filing directly or offer a self-service brand registry. Teams accustomed to filing a notice by email or through a one-click brand registry often assume n11 works the same way. The separate portal and mandatory membership create an extra procedural layer that does not exist on those platforms. Planning based on the workflow of another marketplace will leave a gap in the timeline.
The practical consequence is timing. Membership approval is a prerequisite, so the first notice you send is only as fast as the application that precedes it; budget for that when planning an enforcement round. You cannot compress the process by preparing the notice in parallel, because the filing interface does not exist until the account is active. Any enforcement calendar that treats the first notice as a same-day action will be inaccurate. The lead time for membership becomes the effective lead time for the entire operation.
Membership is worth setting up before you need it. A brand that joins after finding a problem loses the days it would have used on the actual filing. Reactive registration means the infringing listing remains live while the application is under review. Proactive registration shifts that waiting period to a moment when no urgent action is pending. The cost of early registration is near zero compared with the cost of an uncontrolled listing during the approval window.
The Brand Protection Centre screens are supported on Chrome; plan the session accordingly rather than discovering a rendering problem mid-filing. Attempting the application or a subsequent filing on an unsupported browser can break form validation or hide required fields. Technical troubleshooting during a live enforcement window wastes time that the membership process has already consumed. Standardising on the supported browser from the first login avoids a preventable delay.

Documents the membership application asks for
The application is a package rather than a form: a signed membership agreement plus the documents that prove who you are and that you may sign. You do not fill in a single web form and submit; you assemble a dossier of separate files. The membership agreement itself must carry a wet-ink or qualified electronic signature. Missing any one component means the file sits in a holding queue instead of moving to review.
Companies supply a signature circular and sole traders supply a signature declaration. These are the Turkish documents that show which natural person is entitled to bind the entity, and an application missing one is held rather than refused. A signature circular is issued by the trade registry and lists the authorised signatories for a limited or joint-stock company. A sole trader signs a declaration before a notary confirming their own authority. Foreign extracts or board resolutions do not replace these Turkish documents.
| Item | Who provides it | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Signed membership agreement | Rights holder or legal representative | Downloaded from n11 and signed |
| Signature circular | Companies | Shows who may sign for the legal entity |
| Signature declaration | Sole traders | The equivalent document for a natural person |
| Trademark registration certificate | Rights holder | Turkish Patent and Trademark Office record |
| Proof of authority | Representative filing on behalf of the owner | Required where the applicant is not the owner |
| Application address | — | mkm@n11.com, or the postal address on n11's contact page |
Turkish trademark registration is the substantive document. A foreign registration that has not been extended to Turkey does not establish the right that a Turkish marketplace can act on, so check your Turkish record before applying. The marketplace evaluates rights against the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office database. An international registration designating Turkey counts only once it appears in the national register with a Turkish application number. Pending applications or foreign certificates without Turkish effect are not sufficient.
Where a law firm or agent files on behalf of the owner, proof of authority belongs in the same package. Sending it later restarts the waiting. A power of attorney or authorisation letter must accompany the initial email or postal shipment. If the agent forwards the mandate in a second message, the review clock resets from the date the complete package arrives. Keep the mandate in the same PDF bundle or zip file to avoid this delay.
The package goes to mkm@n11.com, or by post to the address published on n11's contact page. Email is the faster channel but the postal option exists for originals that require wet-ink signatures. Use a tracked service if you post the dossier so you have proof of delivery. The contact-page address is the only valid postal destination; do not send documents to n11's general headquarters or logistics centres.
| Document | Who provides it | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Signed membership agreement | Applicant (owner or authorised agent) | Formal acceptance of n11 Brand Protection Centre terms |
| Signature circular | Companies (limited / joint-stock) | Proves which natural person binds the entity |
| Signature declaration | Sole traders | Confirms the trader's own signing authority |
| Turkish trademark registration certificate | Applicant | Establishes the enforceable right in Turkey |
| Power of attorney / authorisation letter | Agent or law firm (if filing for owner) | Proves the agent may act for the rights holder |

Filing the infringement notice inside the system
Once membership is approved n11 sends a username and password. From then on notices are filed inside ipr.n11.com rather than by email, and the result of each assessment is returned to the rights holder by email. The portal replaces the earlier email workflow entirely, so you must keep the credentials secure and monitor the inbox linked to the account. A common mistake is to continue sending notices to the old email address after the portal goes live, which produces no formal record. Treat the portal as the single channel for all future filings.
Each notice concerns specific listings, identified by their internet address. This is the same requirement the regulation sets out for every marketplace: the internet address of the product is one of the five mandatory elements of a complaint. You must copy the exact URL for every listing you want reviewed; a category page or search result link does not satisfy the rule. Rights holders sometimes submit a storefront URL instead of individual product URLs, which makes the filing incomplete. Verify each address in a browser before pasting it into the form.
The other four mandatory elements are the trademark registration certificate, the identity and address information of the rights holder, the grounds and evidence, and a declaration accepting liability if the claim proves untrue. An incomplete filing is not processed. The certificate must be current and legible, and the identity data must match the register exactly. Grounds and evidence should reference the specific listings rather than making general statements about the seller. The liability declaration is a formal statement; omitting it or altering its wording stops the assessment before it begins.
Because an incomplete filing is not processed, the statutory period does not start either. When nothing happens after a filing, the first thing to check is completeness rather than elapsed time. The 48-hour clock only begins once every mandatory element is present and valid. Rights holders often assume the deadline is running while the platform is actually waiting for a missing document. Re-submit a corrected notice instead of waiting for a response that will not arrive.
The regulation requires removal without delay and within no more than 48 hours on a compliant complaint, and it applies to every marketplace, not only to the largest ones. The 48-hour outer limit is measured from the moment the complete notice is received by the platform. "Without delay" means the platform must act as soon as practicable, not wait until the final hour. This rule covers n11 on the same basis as any other Turkish marketplace. Do not expect a longer window because of the platform's size or market share.

The notary and KEP route if you cannot wait
Membership is n11's own process, not a legal precondition. Turkish e-commerce legislation recognises notary notice and registered electronic mail, known as KEP, as filing channels, and both remain open. This means you do not need to complete the Brand Protection Centre registration before you can submit a valid infringement notice. The statutory channels exist independently of the platform's internal workflow. A brand owner who assumes membership is mandatory may lose valuable time waiting for an account approval that the law does not require.
n11's KEP address is n11@hs01.kep.tr, published on its own contact page together with the legal entity name, postal address and MERSIS number. You should copy the address exactly as shown on that page to avoid a delivery failure caused by a typo. The published legal entity name and MERSIS number are the identifiers you will need if you instruct a notary to serve the notice formally. Using outdated or incomplete entity details is a common error that can invalidate the service.
A KEP message carries a delivery record, which is the practical reason to prefer it over ordinary email: you can show when the filing arrived and what it contained. The record is generated by the KEP provider and serves as evidence of both transmission and receipt. Ordinary email does not produce a legally recognised timestamp of delivery to the recipient's server. Relying on a standard email read-receipt or a screenshot of a sent folder is a frequent mistake that leaves a gap in the evidentiary chain.
Foreign rights holders normally cannot obtain a Turkish KEP account directly and file through a Turkish representative or notary instead. Confirm this with your Turkish counsel before assuming a channel is available to you. The technical and regulatory requirements for opening a KEP account generally require a Turkish identity number or a registered Turkish commercial presence. Attempting to register a KEP address from abroad without local representation will usually fail at the identity verification stage. Assuming you can self-file via KEP without a local intermediary is a procedural error that delays the notice.
Whichever channel you use, the five mandatory elements are identical. The channel changes the delivery record, not the content of the filing. You must still include the same substantive information whether you send the notice by notary, KEP, or the Brand Protection Centre portal. Switching channels does not reduce the evidentiary burden or alter the platform's review criteria. Treating the notary or KEP route as a "lighter" filing with fewer requirements is a misunderstanding that leads to rejected notices.

Addresses that look right but are not
n11 publishes a separate product safety contact, urunguvenligi@n11.com, under Turkish product safety legislation. Intellectual property filings sent there do not reach the enforcement flow. The mailbox is monitored by a different compliance team that handles regulatory recalls and safety certificates. Your notice will sit in a queue that has no connection to the Brand Protection Centre. The 48-hour statutory window never begins because the system does not register an IP complaint at that address.
Sending an IP notice to a general customer service address has the same effect: the filing is not registered as a complaint under the regulation and the 48-hour period never starts. Front-line support agents route tickets to refund or shipping teams, not to the intellectual property unit. No automated acknowledgement is generated for the Brand Protection Centre dashboard. You receive a generic case number that cannot be tracked in the rights-owner portal. The deadline clock remains at zero until the notice lands in the correct intake channel.
Marketplace badge programmes are also unrelated to enforcement. A badge on a listing describes commercial performance or a verification the seller passed, not permission from the brand owner. Sellers earn badges through sales volume, delivery speed or platform-run identity checks. The presence of a badge does not indicate an authorised distribution relationship. Relying on a badge to decide whether a listing is infringing leads to false negatives and wasted filings.
Before filing anywhere, confirm the current address on the marketplace's own corporate page rather than from a third-party blog. Contact points change, and a filing sent to a stale address is a filing that did not happen. Blogs and forum posts often recycle outdated email addresses from previous policy versions. The corporate page reflects the live intake route at the moment you check it. A five-minute verification prevents a filing that disappears into an unmonitored inbox.
Knowing which listings to name is the part no channel solves for you. Scanning five Turkish marketplaces by hand takes days, and producing that list is the work we do. The notice form requires specific URLs or listing IDs for each allegedly infringing offer. Missing a single active listing means that offer remains live after the takedown. Automated monitoring across Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Amazon.com.tr, n11 and Çiçeksepeti reduces the manual workload from days to hours.
If you would rather not count these by hand, we run the scan across all five marketplaces and send the report free: free scan.
Frequently asked questions
Can I file an infringement notice on n11 without joining anything?
You cannot file an infringement notice through n11's own system without joining the Brand Protection Centre at ipr.n11.com, which requires membership before filing. The application goes to mkm@n11.com. The notary and registered electronic mail routes recognised by Turkish e-commerce legislation remain available, and n11's KEP address is n11@hs01.kep.tr.
What documents does the n11 membership application need?
The n11 membership application needs a signed membership agreement, a signature circular for companies or a signature declaration for sole traders, and the Turkish trademark registration certificate together with proof of authority where an agent is filing. The package is sent to mkm@n11.com or posted to the address on n11's contact page.
Is my home-country trademark registration enough?
A home-country trademark registration is not enough. A Turkish marketplace acts on a right that exists in Turkey, so what matters is your Turkish registration record. If your mark has not been extended to Turkey, resolve that with a Turkish trademark attorney before building an enforcement plan around it.
Where should I not send an n11 IP filing?
Do not send an n11 IP filing to urunguvenligi@n11.com, which is the product safety contact point under separate legislation, and not to general customer service. A filing sent to the wrong address is not registered as a complaint under the regulation, so the 48-hour removal period never starts.
How fast does n11 have to act?
The regulation requires a marketplace to remove a listing without delay and within no more than 48 hours once a compliant complaint has been filed, and that rule applies to every marketplace. An incomplete filing is not processed at all, and in that case the period does not begin.
